"Orphelinat Notre Dame de la Misericorde" in Yaoundé, Cameroon
AFAS' Sharing Project
Air Force Academy Switzerland supports the “Orphelinat Notre Dame de la Misericorde" in Yaoundé, Cameroon. Today, twenty-three orphans, aged between 3 and 12 years old, live in this orphanage.
We decided to choose this little structure managed by Sister Julienne who is providing a first home to children that are found in the street, very often abandoned by their families. We can ensure a local follow up and make sure that every single contribution is wisely and effectively used.
The goal is to finance urgent actions, provide daily help and plan needed developments to make sure that children are taken care of. As an example, AFAS' Team has financed an urgent surgery to repair a mouth malformation of a 3 years old little girl. Also, we will furnish new kitchen appliances by end 2017 and we have for 2018 a plan for the extension of the building hosting the orphans.
The Team
AFAS' Team is composed by Giovanni and Claudio, who are responsible for the coordination and the delivery of the support to this orphanage. Giovanni will visit the orphanage at least quarterly (next visit is planned for mid December 2017). The Team will closely monitor the execution of the actions financed and the progresses made of each planned development. Contributors and donors will regularly be informed of the results achieved and documented in a blog that can be accessed on AFAS' website.
